Both elections might help address the perception that the governance of the GAA is too male dominated. Figure 7.13 below is taken from the Irish Sports Monitor (2013). At club level, the sports of Hurling/Camogie and Gaelic Football are clearly perceived as being too male dominated in their administration.
Interestingly, the perception of sport being too male dominated is greater amongst males than females as Figure 7.12 below demonstrates.
